Thanks for subscribing to the Nine Elms Newsletter. As we come up to the Jubilee Weekend we are highlighting three different stories from past, present and future.
The first is a past focus on Queen Elizabeth’s experiences of Battersea, which began at an early age with ‘taking the air’ in Battersea Park. You’ll also find the details of the exhibition called ‘The Royal Family in Wandsworth’. Our second story is hot off the press, where we report on the opening of The Happiness Garden, a school and community space in Thessaly Road which has been formally opened by the Mayor of Wandsworth. And for the future, look out for links to Jubilee events around the area and particularly the Commonwealth Baton Relay and Beacon Lighting at Battersea Power Station.
Other features in this month’s edition include our lovely royal recipe for a Victoria Sponge and we give the results of our first Quality of Life survey in Nine Elms. We’re here to tell local stories and report local news – let us know what’s going on in your part of Nine Elms and we can spread the word! As ever, check out www.nineelms.org/events for more events in your area.
