Squire & Partners has received planning permission for two hotels near the US Embassy in Nine Elms. Wandsworth Council’s planning committee approved the project for developer Dominvs Group on a vacant 0.38ha site next to the embassy’s western boundary. The buildings – a ‘midscale’ hotel of 11 storeys and a 15-storey hotel promising ‘affordable luxury’ – will provide a combined total of 837 bedrooms. The larger hotel will have a ground-floor cafe and a 14th-floor restaurant with a bar and views of the Thames.
