See the glass-encased pool that’s nestled 115 feet above the ground. London developers recently unveiled plans for a one-of-a-kind swimming pool suspended between two 10-story buildings, and it’s made completely out of glass. The aquarium-like floating pool—the brainchild of Ballymore Group CEO Sean Mulryan and developed by Arup Associates—is completely structure-free and will allow residents at Embassy Gardens to swim from one building to the next. Aside from being able to take a midair dip, swimmers will also have unparalleled views of city landmarks, like the London Eye and the Houses of Parliament. The development—estimated for completion by 2019—will also include a spa, summer bar and orangery on the sky deck.

Embassy Gardens is a mixed-use development in London that has spearheaded the vital extension of the South Bank and is the centrepiece of Nine Elms – one of Europe’s most significant regeneration projects. Wrapped around the US Embassy, the 8ha riverside neighbourhood will provide over 1,500 new homes, world-class amenities including the ‘Sky Pool’ (a world first in engineering), 432,278 sq.ft. of office space across two buildings, 130,000 sq.ft. of retail space and cafes, bars and restaurants. Walking distance from key transport hubs and further improved connectivity with the forthcoming extension of the Northern Line, the developers behind Embassy Gardens saw huge potential to deliver a major international project.
