Our groundworks and infrastructure contractor, Natta, will be commencing works on a further phase of the enabling works for the Apex site. Starting initially with a weeks’ period of site establishment / hoarding beginning this week (August 1st), with construction starting on August 8th. These works will see Natta’s working area extend further into the Market, adjacent to the Food Exchange building.
Works will include the following:
- Further construction of the new access road from the viaduct (accessed via Wandsworth Road) through the Apex site and into the Market
- Infrastructure to support new incoming supplies to the Market site
- Diversion of existing services within the market site and into the Apex site
The construction of the Access Road will unfortunately involve noisy works initially as the existing concrete slab across the site has to be broken out, making way for the new road to be built-up. We will endeavour to ensure that they cause as little disruption to you as possible.
VINCI St. Modwen has monitoring systems in place to measure levels of noise, dust and vibrations keep to below the agreed safety levels and will be putting mitigation measures such as acoustic barriers in place. We may also split these noisy works into one hour with a break in between each ‘on-shift’ when the noise levels reach their peak.
Working hours will be from 08:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday in line with our agreed consent with Wandsworth Borough Council.
Thank you.
Issued on behalf of VINCI St. Modwen, developers of New Covent Garden Market sites and its contractor Natta.
